Chick Butcher
Artist Statement
The constant attempts to keep things whole, together and seamlessly functioning is out of our control.
The inner workings become reluctantly exposed, sections detach, deteriorate and sometimes crumble or even die. We patch, mask and turn inwards only daring to re-emerge when we're able to light up the dark even for a short period. It remains ineffable until the next time it surface’s and the thoughts come uncontrollably rushing back. The human condition has an attitude of need. You can't hide from the dark.
