From The Top Road

FROM THE TOP ROAD
Artists from Bula’bula Arts Centre and Maningrida Arts Centre

1st June - 20th July 2024

‘From the Top Road’ is an exhibition that celebrates connection to Country, ancestors and neighbouring communities.

Titled after the primary route into Arnhem Land, Northern Territory which grants access to both the Bula’bula Arts Centre and the Maningrida Arts Centre, this exhibition will feature works from a number of local artists that draw insight from both the natural and spiritual existence of the top end.

These artworks weave together stories of the natural environment and reflect on the importance of ingrained practices that include ceremonies, songs, language and family. They speak of who they are and where they are.

“Our culture lies in the ground… It lies in the earth, but we are bringing it out…where we can see it.”

Ivan Namirrkki, Kuninjku Artist
