UNDERLINE - A live performance and exhibition, celebrating the art of the tattoo.  

Fine lines, original drawings and coloured layers, the art of tattooing has evolved over the centuries. Capturing connections, defining identities, paying homage to people and places whilst curating a sense of belonging.   

This exhibition was conceived as an inclusive street level event for community. To stimulate youth, intrigue the conservative and invite those who would not usually attend a gallery.  

Comprising of 36 submissions, 11 original drawings and a documentary photographer, UNDERLINE highlights an artform that we interact with on a daily level. Often tattoos hold great significance to the individual but may challenge the onlooker for understanding. In this setting we ask the viewer to consider the intention, accept the outcomes and partake in the experience.
